Hey, I’m Ethan.

A fresh grad from the Marshall School of Business @ USC. Born and raised in LA, I come from an extended family of first-gen immigrants and serial entrepreneurs.

I thrive at the intersection of business, culture, and creativity.

Based in LA, open to full-time opportunities anywhere.

Past

Trojan through and through. I studied Business Admin @ USC where I learned to abuse Excel, research effectively, collaborate wholeheartedly, and communicate concisely.

Education

Experiences

My most valuable experiences were outside of the classroom. At Daylight Community Development, I worked with real estate developers and nonprofits to help house LA’s homeless population. At Mandomo, I learned from an expert music producer the art of beat-making, artist collaboration, and sync licensing. At Colliers, I managed the network of a top LA real estate broker.

Entrepreneurship is in my blood. At USC I joined Sigma Eta Pi, an entrepreneurship org, where I pushed through a 10 week startup accelerator. There I discovered customers, created an MVP, built decks, and pitched my startup to a panel of investors.

Present

Etco Homes - Real Estate Dev

Real estate’s the family business.

  • As a financial analyst I put my Excel skills to good use: underwriting properties, interpreting financial models, breaking down key metrics for ownership, and creating packages for investors.

  • As a project engineer, I communicate with hundreds of subcontractors, evaluate proposals for various trades (structural concrete, on-site security, you name it), and build/manage custom budgeting models for future projects/employees.

I’m always doing something on the side. What can I say? It’s in my nature.

  • Currently building out a Legal Funding startup; managing company infrastructure (CRM platform, documentation, etc), long-term strategy, and weekly operations targets.

Side Hustles

Future

I want to work at the forefront of culture.

Okay that’s pretty vague, but allow me to explain…

To me, culture is:

  • A shared human experience; often segmented via physical location (cafe, street, neighborhood, city, state, country) or interest (basketball, rock & roll, Japanese denim).

  • Experienced passively (living in Los Angeles) or actively (listening to music).

  • Ever-changing: yesterday’s meme is NOT today’s meme.

  • Shaped by those who participate in it.

Culture manifests in everything from the food we eat, to the music we enjoy, to the jokes we tell. Since it’s always changing, it keeps life fresh. By immersing ourselves in it we become attuned to those around us and communicate more effectively. To me, experiencing and contributing to culture is what makes life fun.

Excellent companies harness this power: they drive culture forwards through product, branding, marketing, and collaboration. They set trends, carve niches, and establish identities (internally and externally).

That’s where I want to be. Whether it’s curating physical spaces, revamping operations, creative strategy, experimental marketing, or something entirely unique, I want to work with companies at the forefront of culture and help them succeed as businesses.

Now, you might be thinking: “Why does a business-focused, real estate analyst think he can help shape culture?”

As with anything, I think my story deserves some context:
